SS-DIVISION NORD

Colour photographs of WWII are rare and even more so when they show a Waffen-SS unit. SS-Kriegsberichter (war correspondent) Mitschke was able to benefit from this new technology, not very widespread at the time, and take forty or so photographs showing the SS-Gebirgs-Division “Nord” on the Finnish Front. This is therefore an exceptional document that we have the privilege of offering you. The photographs give a very varied insight into the life of this division with the spectacular Karelian

forests as the backdrop. This book is also the opportunity to present new information about the unit on top of the text we published in the Dictionnaire de la Waffen-SS.
