Appearing in 2008 Medieval Dress from 1320 to 1480 by Florent Véniel quickly became a reference work. Out of print nowadays, it is now being reedited. Since it was first published, knowledge about medieval dress has improved. New researchers have appeared and new studies have been made, fundamental texts have been published. Not to mention recent archaeological discoveries. As with every study about medieval dress, certain aspects of the 2008 work are now obsolete whereas other indications have to be followed up.
This re-edition, made necessary because of demand for the book, is an opportunity to re-write and update the book and take into account the latest discoveries, progress, and theories about dress at the end of the Middle Ages. New elements about the 14th Century are included. Some of the illustrations will be revised in order to fit in with present day knowledge in order to make this an original book. As with the first edition, the revised and corrected edition of Medieval Dress from 1320 to 1480 is accessible to everybody, specialists or amateurs of medieval history, reconstitution organisers looking for information and amateurs of the history of dress in general.
